I have all these little black bugs in the ice/water dispenser of my fridge.... mostly on the tray at the bottom that catches the spillage. First noticed them about a week ago. They kind of went away and now they're back. WTF?

That's pretty gross. Remind me never to drink the water at your house.

yes, thank you to all the amateur entymologists, I know they're gross. :maine: So what are they and how do I get rid of them? I rinsed off the tray the first time and it worked for a week... I'll do it again when I get home but a permanent solution would be nice...

I once got a scotch at a very dimly lit bar in Southie.
well, my drink had a little black bug in it.
I fished it out.
Soon I got another scotch....

AND THERE WAS ANOTHER BUG IN IT.

I think the bottle was loaded with em.
I never went back to that bar.

Those are ice mites.

While commonly found in snipe tripe and normally non-fatal to domestic animals and livestock, they are known to carry the Severe Hypoglycemic Immuno Tertiary Duodermis Ancillary Water Disease. This is very bad.

Once these particular mites get into the walls and circuts of the appliance, there is no salvage of the item. If they are comming out of the water dispensor, that just means the fridge is already full.

You need a new refridgerator.

Have wings
Are not ants
Very small, 1 or 2 mm long

Fruit Flys are a strong possibility

If you can't tell the gender of a cat how the damn should I tell on a bug?
